Short-Selling and Fraud Analysis

Before I ended up working in the short-selling and fraud analysis space, I have accumulated the following experience as an investment analyst;

1-year sell-side experience, London-based equity research firm, StockViews

At StockViews I performed classic sell-side fundamental due-diligence on large-cap European names.

2-year experience of running a self-published newsletter focused on ‘deep value’ opportunities in the Over The Counter (OTC) market.

I have tracked the OTC market for investment opportunities, amassed positive performance and created a database for over 400 stocks in the space. Highlights of my research include a company that decided to liquidate after my public report or a dividend yielder with over 100% return in under two years.

1-year buy-side experience, a consultant for US asset manager in the OTC space (legal due-diligence)

Now I would like to help perform fundamental due-diligence for short-orientated funds, research firms or investigators targeting public markets. Due to my past experience, I am capable of modelling, in-depth research via unusual sources and writing reports with all my findings.

I also write a weekly column about short-selling for Seeking Alpha PRO+ exclusive members.

I also run a podcast focused on short-selling.

Part of my motivation to focus on short-selling and fraud could be found in this blog post.

You can find my official CV and past research here. I have been writing short-orientated research since 2017. My highlights include Vuzix (VUZI), down about 63%, Leaf Group (LEAF), down about 72% or Spark Energy (SPKE), down about 24% (peculiar accounting practice is the highlight).
